Affiliate Disclosure

How we make money, and how we keep our recommendations honest.

Last updated: October 6, 2026

The short version

Some links on this website and in our content are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. We only promote things we genuinely believe have value, and paid placements are always disclosed.

1. Why we disclose

In accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) 16 CFR Part 255 guidelines — and similar rules in other countries (including the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive and the UK CAP Code) — we clearly disclose any material connection between Ledgerline and the products, services, or companies we mention.

A "material connection" includes commissions, sponsorships, free products, or paid partnerships. Transparency keeps your trust, and it's the law.

2. What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link is a special URL that tracks that a visit or purchase came from our content. If you complete a qualifying action after clicking it — usually a purchase or a sign-up — the merchant credits us with a commission or referral fee.

You can typically tell a link may be an affiliate link when we say so near it, or when the URL contains a tracking parameter. Some links are plain, non-tracking links to the same destination.

3. Where affiliate links appear

Affiliate links may appear in:

Where required, a disclosure statement is placed at the top of the content, before any affiliate link appears — not buried in the footer.

4. It costs you nothing extra

Good to know

Using our affiliate links does not increase the price you pay. In many cases you'll receive a discount or bonus through our link. The commission comes out of the merchant's marketing budget, not your pocket.

5. Our opinions stay our own

Receiving a commission never guarantees a favorable mention. We do not accept payment in exchange for a positive review. Our analysis, rankings, and opinions are our own, based on our own research and judgment. If something isn't worth your money, we'll say so — commission or not.

We may also negotiate special rates, bonuses, or exclusive offers for our audience. When we do, we'll tell you.

From time to time we are paid by brands to create content or feature their products. When a video, post, or page is sponsored, we will clearly label it as such — with a verbal callout and on-screen/text disclosure — at the beginning of the content, in addition to complying with each platform's own disclosure tools (such as YouTube's "Paid promotion" checkbox).

Sponsored content is always marked. If you ever see something we were paid for that isn't marked, please tell us.

7. Advertising

Our videos may display display ads served by platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram. These platforms match ads to content and audience; advertisers do not pay us to influence our editorial content. Advertisements shown by a platform are not endorsements by us of the advertised product.

8. Third-party responsibility

When you click an affiliate link, you leave our site and transact with a third party. We are not responsible for the content, pricing, policies, or practices of those third parties, and we cannot control where a link redirects. Always do your own due diligence before purchasing any financial product or service — and remember, nothing here is financial advice.
